MIDITrail doesn't open at all (2023-04-17 16:42 by Taskete #95046)

I get this error when opening MIDITrail Ver.1.4.0 32 bit and 64 bit versions:

DirectX API error.
FUNC: DXRenderer::Initialize
LINE: 171
INFO: FFFFFFFF8876086A 00000000

I've tried installing Microsoft: DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) and made sure that Direct3D Acceleration is enabled, but I still get the error.

I'm using Windows 11 Pro with an Intel i9-13900K and NVIDIA RTX 4090.

Hello,
The error code means that Direct3D is not available.
But you have confirmed that Direct3D is enabled, so I don't know what is causing the error.

Please launch the DirectX Diagnostic Tool (dxdiag.exe), and check "Feature Levels" contains "9_3".

I was suffering from exactly the same symptoms, but when I set the display magnification to 100% in the settings, it started. My pc was set to 200% by default and I couldn't boot.

Wow, thank you so much! This actually solved the problem. I also had it set to 200% since I'm using a 4k monitor.

Another way to fix this without having to change the system's display magnification 100% is to right-click the app, go in to properties and into the compatibility tab. In there, click the Change high DPI settings button, and check the High DPI scaling override box at the bottom.
